Israeli Police, Palestinians, Clash in Jerusalem Amid Rising Tensions - The Wall Street Journal

TEL AVIV, Israel—Israeli police clashed with Palestinians in and around Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site on Sunday, as tensions in the city continued amid a rare overlapping of religious holidays.

Israeli police on Sunday said they entered the Al Aqsa Mosque compound after hundreds of young Palestinians, some of them masked, began hoarding stones and iron barricades to prevent Jewish visitors from entering the site. The Palestinian Red Crescent, a humanitarian organization, said it treated 17 people injured during the clashes in the vicinity of the mosque.
