WASHINGTON—In a

series of eight televised hearings, the residence select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, rise up on the Capitol sought to paint a damning photograph of a president willing to incite a mob to cling on to power after working out of alternatives in reversing his election defeat.

Now, the committee plans to retain going during the fall, citing new witnesses and unanswered questions, simply as Democrats are attempting to retain their slender house majority and former President Donald Trump weighs a brand new run for the White apartment.
