Three Wayne County deputies shot whereas serving papers; suspect barricaded internal home - WITN

DUDLEY, N.C. (WITN) - The Wayne County Sheriff's workplace says the scene continues to be active after three deputies had been shot on Monday morning.

in accordance with Joel Gillie, the Wayne County public advice officer, "three deputies sustained gunshot wounds" as they served involuntary dedication paperwork to a house in the 2500 block of Arrington Bridge road in Dudley round 10:30 a.m.

Gillie says two deputies had been airlifted to eu health clinical center and one deputy is being handled at Wayne UNC fitness Care.

As of 1:31 p.m., there isn't any update on the conditions of the deputies.

legislation enforcement says the deputies had been donning vests once they have been serving the papers, as is commonplace practice in a case of an involuntary commitment.

The suspect is barricaded internal of the home and the scene continues to be lively. A helicopter is hovering over the enviornment.
