NC State radio voice Gary Hahn suspended after 'illegal aliens' reference - ESPN

NC State radio broadcaster Gary Hahn was suspended indefinitely after referring to "unlawful aliens" in El Paso, Texas, all over the Wolfpack's 16-12 loss to Maryland within the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday.

Hahn made the comments as he relayed the score of the solar Bowl, asserting, "Down amongst all of the illegal aliens in El Paso, it's UCLA 14 and Pittsburgh 6."

Learfield Communications, the NC State broadcast rights holder, employs Hahn and confirmed the suspension to ESPN.

"LEARFIELD has suspended Wolfpack activities network Play-with the aid of-Play announcer Gary Hahn from his agreement indefinitely following comments made throughout modern day Duke's Mayo Bowl radio broadcast," Learfield noted in an announcement.

El Paso officials have declared a state of emergency as migrants have persisted to cross into the metropolis from Mexico seeking asylum.
